A Powerful Screening at Kent Law School – Thank You

May 23, 2025

On Tuesday 20th May, we had the honour of screening Small Boats: The Border Conundrum at the Kent Law Graduate Conference 2025. Hosted at the University of Kent’s Law School, this event marked another significant step in bringing the documentary into academic and policy-shaping spaces.

The screening was followed by an engaged and thoughtful Q&A session, where we had the chance to unpack some of the deeper themes of the film and reflect on the complex realities it explores. The conversation that unfolded was both insightful and encouraging—clear evidence that this topic resonates and deserves wider attention.

We were particularly moved by the feedback shared with us by the organisers:

Thank you so much for joining us at the Kent Law Graduate Conference 2025 and for presenting your powerful documentary, Small Boats: The Border Conundrum.

Your film and the conversation that followed offered a compelling perspective that deeply resonated with our audience.

We’re incredibly grateful for your willingness to share both your creative work and the personal insights behind it. The screening sparked meaningful dialogue and helped highlight the issues that both England and France are experiencing that many of us did not have any knowledge about.

It was an honour to host you. The documentary shows how your voice and vision are invaluable.”

We’re grateful to everyone who came, watched, and participated in the discussion. Special thanks to Dr Josipa Šarić for organising the event and inviting us, and to Daniel Esson from Kent Online for joining us on the panel.

These kinds of screenings are essential to the life of the project—this is where the conversations start, where new perspectives are formed, and where change begins. We look forward to more opportunities to share the film in spaces like this.
